How to Decal Tires

Tire decals can really add a lot to your model, but they can be frustrating to apply. Fortunately, there is an easy way to do it and get great results every time.
 
Start by spraying the smooth sidewall of the tire with Testors Glosscote. Let that dry, and apply your decals: they will adhere to the smooth, glossy surface easily, so you won't need to use any special setting solution. Wick away the extra water with a paper towel, and let dry for a half hour or so. Once they're dry, spray the tires again, this time with Testors Dullcote. This seals the decals and hides their edges, plus it gives the tires a realistic matte appearance.
