3rd Annual UPSTATE IDOL Music Competition

Bands and solo artists are invited to perform their own material for a chance to win the grand prize of a professional digital recording session at Clubhouse in Rhinebeck NY with producer Sandy McKnight. You are invited to catch an early glimpse of the area's rising stars - and you get to vote for your favorite! Performers will be judged by music industry professionals including singer/songwriter Marc Black, composer/multi instrumentalist Larry Chernicoff, artist manager Nina Bueti, and the audience on originality, musicianship, performance, and stage presence. (Prizes will also be awarded to runners-up from Mark's Music in Rhinebeck, NY)

HOW TO ENTER

Format: You perform an original 10-minute set in front of the audience and judges (experienced music and entertainment professionals). Bands, focus on a primarily acoustic sound, please.

Voting: The audience gets to vote. Their input is worth 25% of the total. The more people you bring, the better you'll do in this category (assuming your friends like you).

To Enter: You (or your band) must be able to guarantee at least ten (10) fans in the audience. Tickets are $5, so with your entry, you will commit to a minimum of $50 worth of tickets, and then sell the tickets to your 10 fans on your own. The more people you can bring, the better response your set will get. There will be refreshments and food available, and the venue is family-friendly (all ages...bring your kid brother!).

Entry Procedure:

MAIL a check for $50 (your guarantee for ten tickets) along with the information listed below to Columbia Arts Team, c/o Christina Dellea, 272 Herrington Road, Hillsdale, NY 12529. 

• Your name, mailing address, phone, and email address;
• Are a singer/songwriter OR a band; if band, include band name;
• Genre of music;
• Brief description of music background / experience (for example, whether you perform regularly, etc);
• Number of instruments you'll play;
• Number of vocal mikes you'll need
