Bands and solo artists are invited to perform their own material for a chance to win the grand prize of a professional digital recording session with producer Sandy McKnight. You are invited to catch an early glimpse of the area's rising stars — and you get to vote for your favorite! Performers will be judged by music industry professionals and the audience on originality, musicianship, performance, and stage presence. (Prizes will also be awarded to runners-up and all the audience members!)
Mt. Washington House, Hillsdale, for Semi-Finals; Jason's Upstairs Bar, Hudson, for Finals. Public admission to the Semi-Finals is $5.00; for Finals is $15 for General Admission, $10 for Seniors, Students, Veterans, and Catalyst Members. All ages are welcome. HOW TO ENTER
Format: You perform an original 10-minute set in front of the audience and judges (experienced music and entertainment professionals). Bands, focus on a primarily acoustic sound, please. Voting: The audience gets to vote. Their input is worth 25% of the total. The more people you bring, the better you'll do in this category (assuming your friends like you). To Enter: You (or your band) must be able to guarantee at least ten (10) fans in the audience. Tickets are $5, so with your entry, you will commit to a minimum of $50 worth of tickets, and then sell the tickets to your 10 fans on your own. The more people you can bring, the better response your set will get. There will be refreshments and food available, and the venue is family-friendly (all ages...bring your kid brother!).
