Tip for November 2005:
Radio Antennas
Radio antennas are a nice touch, but if you've made one out of regular wire you know that they can be bent very easily. Instead of regular wire, try guitar or banjo wire. The small diameter wires are the correct thickness, but stand up far better against bending. Another way to make scale-correct radio antennas is to heat and stretch plastic rod (the plastic trees that parts come on is good for this). Carefully heat the plastic over a heat source (like a candle), and slowly stretch the plastic until it is the right thickness. The result is a very flexible antenna that can be glued to the model with plastic cement.
