Coil Springs

You've probably noticed the problem with coil springs in most kits: they're solid. You can make realistic coil springs by wrapping floral wire around the kit-provided spring. Once it is wound, you can remove it from the part by unthreading it like a nut/bolt. Floral wire comes in several thicknesses, so you should be able to find one that is appropriate for whatever scale you prefer.
