Toy Fair 2011 Day 3: Old Familiar Faces
Tuesday, February 15. 2011
Every year at Toy Fair, I like to visit a few specific companies. These companies represent some of the best choices for kids of all ages.First, Dano2 remains one of my personal favorites for the youngest target audience. The passion and artistry they have really comes through in their products, and make them that much better. Their latest offering is a learning app for the iPad called Little Sky Writers. They will soon be releasing an update of the Little Sky Writer toy that was first prototyped last year. Dano2's products remain a popular choice for new parents, and are perfect for little ones. For older kids, Manhattan toys' Automoblox line is a great choice. New products include their Highcroft Racing set, classic hot rods, and more. The unique styling offers a fun option for kids and parents who are into cars but interested in something a bit different. Finally, for adult collectors, M2 Machines continues their line of highly detailed 1/24 collectibles. Their Shelby Mustangs have just recently hit stores, and will be followed up by a '56 Ford Pickup hot rod in the near future. Later this year, they plan to offer a '69 Camaro as well. Although more well known for their 1/64 vehicles, their 1/24 series provides a nice combination of high parts count and excellent detailing and a reasonable price tag.
All in all, it looks like 2011 will see some great new products!
