Background

After Jason Childress retired from competition, John Seasock took over as the driver for Batman. In that first season he won a racing championship in Atlanta and took the World Racing Championship at Monster Jam World World Finals VIII.

Packaging

Another minor tweak to the packaging, with the top right corner opened even further. The Hot Wheels logo that had been there was moved to the top left of the front panel, and the Monster Jam logo was moved to the bottom center with the vehicle's name and photo swapping places on the bottom corners.

Casting/Paint

Continuing the trend from the previous two years, the last of the chrome plated plastic has been removed and the wheels are now finished in the same silvery-gray plastic as the suspension parts. There's also been the usual update to the contingency sponsors, and in an effort to better match the 1:1 truck the wings are now solid black. The body stickers look much better now, having been cut tighter to the sponsor logos to allow them to better conform to the curved fairings. There's also a new sticker applied to the roof of the truck between the silver ribs, celebrating its status as a World Finals Racing Champion.

Features/Accessories

No change from the previous release.

Accuracy

The wings are now solid black, otherwise there are no changes from 2006.

Overall

Still not 100% accurate, but 2007 marks the first time the diecast's paint job matched the full-sized truck. If you're interested in the most accurate representation of the early Batman design, this or 2008 will be the ones to look for.
