Rocket-Powered 21-Foot-Long X-Wing Model Actually Flies

Andy Woerner and his crazy rocketeer friends have built a 21-foot long X-Wing model that can actually fly. Yes, this is a real X-Wing powered by four solid-fuel rocket engines complete with radio-controlled moving wings. It blasts off in California next week, and we talked with Andy about the project, and how they expect it will do. All the details and a full construction gallery after the jump.

Used Honda Civic for Sale

"There's high mileage, and then there's this. A 1995 Honda Civic is for sale in Atlanta with, count 'em, 939,899 miles. That's 200+ miles a day. Every day. Including Sundays. For 12 years. It even has a Carfax report from when the car had 907,000 miles on it. According to the seller, the car runs like new, with no leaks, no noises, no oil burning, and not even a scratch on the body. In fact, the only blemish listed is that one of the dashboard lights doesn't work, and that's only sometimes."

New Tip of the Month

October's Tip of the Month is up, and for the record: yes, I did learn that lesson the hard way. The lump of plastic in the photo used to be the hood from a mid-80s Mustang that I was working on about 12 years ago. For some reaason I kept the kit, even though there's almost nothing usable on it any more.
