This buildup came about in part due to a request I had via YouTube. Another modeler had asked how I made the grille guard for my classic General Lee, and so I posted the process here. That left me with an extra TV-style guard and nothing to do with it, though I also had an MPC Coca-Cola Charger (a rebox of their Dukes of Hazzard snap kit) and enough extra parts to modify it into another TV car. Not wanting to have another traditional General Lee, I decided to make this the "undercover" version of the car used in the episode "Southern Comfurts" - essentially, an unmarked General in medium green.

The body followed the same basic process as my movie car: clean up the seams, round off the leading edge of the hood, and modify the front fenders and splash pan to accept Revell's grille and front bumper. The paint was Tamiya TS-43 Racing Green with a coat of satin clear to knock off some of the gloss. The trim was done using a combination of BMF, metal tape, Molotow Liquid Chrome, silver Sharpie, and silver colored pencil. Because the Coke car came with green tinted glass, I used a spare MPC Charger windshield from my parts box and ascratch built rear window.

Inside, I swapped out the kit-supplied seats for a set out of Revell's '69 Charger, made a new shift lever, modified the CB with a coil cord and new face, and scratch built a roll bar. Everything was painted TS-46 Light Sand and detailed further with some basic trim components and a set of my own gauges.

The wheels & tires were made to look as close to my original General Lee as possible, with Vectors out of AMT's Eckler Corvette and parts box tires. A few final details include the mirror and fuel fill from Revell's Charger, a scratch build CB antenna, and my own custom license plate.
