After building the Europa and Jota - and bailing on the horror show that was their Z - I assumed I was done with Doyusha's Circuit Wolf models. Fujimi was releasing newer and better kits from the series, and tracking down the Miura was both more expensive and more difficult than I felt like dealing with considering the quality of Doyusha's kits. Then one practically fell in my lap, so I went ahead and grabbed it.

Much of this kit is shared with the Jota, so I knew pretty much what to expect. The body was a bit better, without the spoilers or fuel fill that needed so much work last time. I did need to clean up the parting lines, polishing the plastic to feather the yellow styrene into where I had to remove the yellow paint. It's not a perfect match, but unless you're looking for it the color shift pretty much disappears. The grilles, headlights, mirrors, wipers, glass, and taillights fit OK, so I used them straight out of the box with just a little paint or chrome touch-up where needed. The only change I made to the interior was scratch building the top half of a steering wheel so as not to waste the decent looking kit part. It doesn't look so good from some angles, but the floor is about 3mm below the window sills - this is not a model one should scrutinize.

As with the Jota, the undersized wheels were worst part of the kit. This time I wanted to see if there was any way to improve them. I went through my tires and wheels, eventually coming across the set that came with Johnny Lightning's 1960s Batmobile. they were too big for my TV Batmobile, but maybe third time's the charm. I cut out the spokes from those wheels, shaved the center rib off of the Miura wheels, and the two fit together just about perfectly. For the smaller front wheels I simply added chrome trim rings to the faces of the wheels and some slightly oversized parts box tires. As with the Jota, the larger rear tires rub on the inside of the fenders so it can no longer zip along on its own unless I remove the body.

A little paint, panel lines, and the kit-supplied rear license plate finished it off. As with the rest of the kits in the series it's not the greatest kit but it was a fun little build.
