Of the dozen or so Crusher Joe kits released by Takara to coincide with the movie's release, the Diskhound was the only one labelled as "1/25" and so was the only one I picked up. After watching the movie, though, I think it would be safe to pick up one or two others - they only appeared in one scene for a few seconds each before getting blown up, and were far enough from any human characters that their exact size is open to interpretation. Still, this was a good one to start with.

Assembly was a strange mix of complexities - each leg was ten pieces, while the main body was just five. But the casting was sharp and required minimal cleanup, so putting it together was a breeze. The only place I needed to use any kind of filler was along the edges of the panels that filled in the toes. Using Tamiya Extra Thin Cement, briefly clamping the parts, and giving it a quick sanding/buffing was sufficient to eliminate the seams elsewhere. The only thing close to a sloppy fit was the ankle joints, and I'm pretty sure they were designed that way to let the feet sit flat and level even if I didn't get the legs/waist perfectly aligned.

Paint was equally straightforward: the bulk of the mech was finished in Tamiya AS-8 Navy Blue, with Polly S Armor Yellow for the intake vanes, black for the various openings, and a red Sharpie over Bare Metal Foil for the sensors.
