A-Team Van Photos

Movie A-Team van

Splash News has posted photos of the A-Team van filming for the upcoming movie. Although it's not a perfect clone of the original TV van, it's the right vintage and looks pretty good. You can see more photos here.

Guest Gallery Update

Farmboy has sent in photos of three of his latest projects: a '55 Chevy stretch limo (made by merging two '55 Chevies, and includes front- and rear-facing seats behind the rear tinted glass), a '34 Ford (chopped, channeled, straightened, and powered by a pair of Chevrolet straight sixes), and a '49 Merc (a chopped, shaved, and frenched version of the AMT kit). You can see them all here.

Ferrari Combat Chassis on 0-60mag.com

Many thanks to Jack for the nice writeup of my Ferrari Testarossa Combat Chassis on 0-60mag.com. Taking it out to shoot photos made me realize that I built this model nearly 15 years ago - it hardly seems possible that it's been that long.

A Scene from Men In Black

The World Trade Center as seen in Men In Black

I consider Men In Black to be one of the greatest comic book adaptations of all time. It combines a well-thought plot with incredible performances, great effects, a solid score, and even manages to use realistic science to balance the more fantastic elements of the movie. We also get two shots of the Manhattan skyline, giving a view of the Towers and surrounding buildings in both daylight and at night. The shots frame the scene where Will Smith learns about the MIB and makes his decision to join, providing a nice transition from the action-oriented scenes on either side to this relatively quiet scene.

Maybe I'll start my own Dead Pool, and put you on it.

This was a quick little project that I've been thinking about for years, but didn't find the right starting point until last week: the R/C Corvette that gave Clint Eastwood a tough time in The Dead Pool (Eastwood has said that chase sequence was his favorite part of the movie). It may be small, but I now have a representative of the "Dirty Harry" universe in my collection.

Aston Martin Gotha

Thanks to Kyality for sending me this item, about the IED Thesis 2009 Aston Martin concepts. The most intriguing is the Gotha, which looks like a perfect base for a future Batmobile:

More photos of it and the other concepts are available here.
