I recently finished my Speed Buggy model, and realized that with that, the Mystery Machine, and the Flintstones' car, I was working up a pretty good collection of classic Hanna-Barbera vehicles. One more that I had in my "unbuilt" stash was the original flying car: the Jetsons' Spaceship.

I had first started this project back in the summer, and got it nearly finished then. But it, like several other projects, got delayed for a bit. I decided to use that delay to have some extra fun with the theme, wrapping it up on the last day of the world.

I bought the body for Speedy before Round 2 reissued the classic Meyers Manx kit, but I still haven't decided if I would have been better off with that as a starting point or not. It certainly would have required less clean-up, but other than the body I don't think I could have used anything from the Manx...and even that needed a few minor tweaks. Either way, I'm fairly happy with how he turned out and glad to have one more from the classic Hanna-Barbera ranks finished (next stop: The Jetsons).
