Hot Night

Exhibit #348 on why I don't build models for hire: the pre-Ectomobile was started sometime in the early/mid-1990s, put in a box for two decades, then suddenly wrapped up in a couple of weeks. Bad enough I subject myself to such random timetables...

Holy Shit!

Alas, cars weren't used much in Mega Shark vs Giant Octopus...it must've been because the airplane already called dibs on the best scene:

Catch My Drift?

I'm really enjoying the 3-Step Changers, if only because they're a relatively easy and inexpensive way for me to expand my 1/24 Transformers collection. Hasbro has a bit of a lull going on at the moment, so I had to look across the Pacific and get Takara in on the action for my latest custom.

Peater?

I mentioned back when I finished the Lotus Europa that I had originally planned to build all four of Doyusha's Circuit no Ōkami kits at once. I never did find Asuka's Lamborghini Miura, but with Fujimi's all-new series about to hit shelves I decided to go with what I had. Fubuki's Europa was a surprisingly not bad little kit, basic but very buildable. The second car in the series, Ox's Lamborghini Jota, wasn't as good and needed several things corrected or replaced before I could get a halfway decent model out of it. Things continued downhill with Mishima's 240Z, which was so awful I put it back in its box and sold it on eBay at a loss - I'll happily use Fujimi's kit instead. It's probably all for the best that I never got that fourth and final kit: if the downward trend continued, I would have gotten a box with a bar of soap to carve. Instead, I switched companies to work on a different (but arguably no better) vintage kit and built Peterson's BMW.
