About 10-12 years back, I had a plan to make a whole set of Death Race-inspired cars: start with the original DR2K monster, then a car or two from the video games that carried the name, the Musatng from the then-new Jason Statham movie, and finally the Lotus Elise from Asylum's Death Racers. But the project failed to bear any models when the dragon paint job for that first car proved beyond what I could do at the time.
While I waited for my skill to catch up to my ambition, the rest of the cars sat in their respective boxes waiting to be built. All except the Lotus, which was purchased from one of those register displays so it had a bar code sticker on the chassis but no other packaging. Rather than let it sit around collecting more dust and risking damage, I decided to drop my pedantic "must be built in order" idea and just wrap it up.
