Mission 1 - START!

1996 was a heck of a year for video games. Sony's Playstation became the best-selling console for the first time, Nintendo released the smaller, lighter Game Boy Pocket, Sega opened the first SegaWorld park outside of Japan, and new titles like Crash Bandicoot, Pokémon, Resident Evil, Dead or Alive, Quake, and Tomb Raider hit stores for the first time. Among all that, SNK released a run-and-gun to arcades that launched its own franchise, the very first Metal Slug.

I was pretty happy with the progress made last year, and am hoping to keep that momentum going through 2023. This year the theme will be "Toys and Games," with inspiration coming from video games, action figures, Hot Wheels cars, etc. I'll also include models that had their start as toys, so expect to see a few restorations and upgrades as well. The first finished project is a scratch build from one of my all-time favorite games (mixed a bit with the show that led to it): the "Honor Roller" from The Simpsons: Hit & Run.
