To Survive, You Drive!

I acknowledge that only a handful of people will remember Steel Monsters - hardly anyone noticed the line when it was in stores. But the '80s were truly a unique time for toys, and I enjoy digging into the history of some of these more esoteric properties.

Hunt the Truth

A couple of years ago, my build theme was "Unfinished Business" - those projects that I had started but never quite got finished. I barely scratched the surface of what I was hoping to that year, but it did cause me to rethink my method a bit. I'm trying to spend less time obsessing over the screw-ups and more time working, actually getting stuff built and done. Case in point: Revell had their Warthog on display at Toy Fair six years ago, I purchased it as soon as it came out, then spent years trying to decide what I wanted to do with it. And while the end result is no contest winner, it makes me much happier seeing it finished than it did sitting in its box.
