NOTE: This is a modified reissue of an existing model, and this review will focus on the changes made between the cars. You can see the original review for more details.

Background

The Batman truck received an updated design in 2013, with new symbols and an all-new wingless rear. Miller continued to be the driver for the season, but had to bow out after the racing part of Monster Jam World Finals XIV, with Carl Van Horn taking over for the freestyle competition.

 

Packaging

Another minor update to the print, this time the Grave Digger callout is now a Max-D logo and the die-cast metal body callout was moved next to it. The "Did You Know" blurb on the reverse side is back, with a note about how far these trucks can jump.

 

Casting/Paint

The casting remains unchanged, but the paint has once again been updated. The gloss black looks much better than last year, and the silver roof ribs are now a darker gloss metallic. The printed elements are also a bit darker, and the edges are pretty fuzzy on the symbols.

 

Features/Accessories

No change from the previous release.

 

Accuracy

The diecast remains unchanged, but the truck received a major update - so once again there's a pretty good gap as far as accuracy.

 

Overall

While I appreciate the improved base color, the logos make it look like the truck is slightly out of focus, even when you're seeing it in person. Definitely not the best of the releases.
