Background
Season three of The Dukes of Hazzard introduced the world to Sheriff "Big Ed" Little. A strict, ill-tempered man with no patience for the buffonery of Rosco or his boss, the Chickasaw County cruiser became another guest in the General Lee's rearview mirror.
Packaging
Packed in what has become the standard "Hazzard-adjacent" packaging, once again everything remains the same except the name of the car.
Casting/Paint
Befitting the older model, the grille is a new mold - still a single piece but now with three rows of slats instead of two - and the same dual round headlights as the Coronet. It also has the dual mirrors of the Coronet, and a new set of taillights. This release also has an all-new push bar, similar to the one on the front of the Bluesmobile but heftier with diagonal braces and rectangular bars. The interior is cast in greenish brown with the usual fully printed dashboard and door panels, and the wire connecting the radio to the microphone is a straight cord.
Paint is essentially the LAPD trim and color breaks, with green replacing black. The paint quality is just as good as expected, with a smooth finish but some ghosting at the edges. The Chickasaw County Sheriff badge is in black and yellow with sharp printing and excellent registration. A tiny Plymouth badge above the grille and a vintage Georgia SFR-304 license plate at the rear finish it off nicely.
Features/Accessories
The door alignment gremlins that have been plaguing this casting seem to have taken the day off, as both doors are perfectly aligned with no sign of paint chipping.
Accuracy
The push bar only appeared briefly in season 4, but looks to be pretty close to what was shown on-screen. This model has the usual front marker lights in the bumper, but for '75 they were in the sides of the grille as they were in Ford's Torino. I can't find a reference for the "SFR-304" license plate, Little's car usually has a "7624" tag.
Overall
Arguably the best of GreenLight's "Hazardous" cars so far. Even if it's not as well-known as the plain white patrol cars of Hazzard county, the green and white is an iconic look and welcome addition to the collection.
