Background
Dr. Thomas "Tommy" Oliver is the longest-serving Power Ranger of all time, starting as an enemy of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as the Green Ranger when under the brainwashing of Rita Repulsa. After being freed from her spell, the Green Ranger's energy faded and Zordon created the White Ranger powers as a replacement.
Packaging
Making this part of a proper series, the box is nearly identical to the Red Ranger's box, changing only the verbiage below the main widow and the portraits on the front and end panels. The back has co-sells for the Red and Green Rangers, and the NSX is held in place with two screws and plastic bands around the front and middle of the car holding everything closed. The green Ranger is on a separate plastic oval mounted to the base near the front of the car.
Casting/Paint
Overall, the NSX shows the solid work we've come to expect from Jada: a cleanly cast metal body with the finer details of the splitter, diffuser, and rear wing cast in black plastic. The sideview mirrors are soft vinyl, but thanks to their short mount posts and matching candy green paint you'll never notice unless you bump them. Panel fit is generally decent, though the extreme lines of the car do mean that the rear corners of the hood are cut off so it can clear the fenders and A pillars. Similarly, the paint is almost great save for a couple of minor missteps. While the base green isn't nearly as uneven as it used to be, it's not quite as spotless as more recent releases. The gold and white accents are excellent, with sharp edges and excellent coverage - only a couple of minor flaws on the edge between the green and white on the front bumper hold this score back. The grilles, roof, and holes in the bumpers have all been painted a smooth satin black, the Honda logo and backup lights have been painted silver on the transparent red taillight panel, and each door has three contingency sponsor logos printed in black: HKS (performance parts), Endless (brakes), and Zeal (suspension). To further evoke the Green Ranger's armor, a zig-zagging pattern appears on both front corners, the chest and shoulder pattern appears on the hood, and the Dragon symbol is on each door.
Inside, the seats are bright gloss red and the steering wheel/column, pedals, and shifter are chrome plated. Everything else is black plastic, and a single sticker is neatly applied to act as the gauge cluster. Behind the interior bulkhead is the engine, visible through the rear window. Detailing is basic but decent, with the top of the engine painted red and the intake bells finished in bright chrome. The chassis is an appropriately simple flat pan with some reinforcing ribs and panel breaks with fasteners. The tires are low profile soft vinyl wrapped around chrome wheels with gold painted spokes over the usual disc brakes.
Features/Accessories
The doors and hood open and close, with the doors properly tucking inside the front fenders when open. There's a little bit of looseness in the left door, allowing it to fall away from the jamb by a millimeter or two, but if you simply push it back closed it will stay where it belongs. A metal 1/24 Green Ranger figure is also included, painted to match the car. It looks good, though the softer vinyl arms aren't quite as sharply defined as the rest of the figure.
Accuracy
This is not based on an existing design, but is instead a "character car" that simply uses an existing tooling with a new paint job to evoke a persona.
Overall
Another excellent addition to the Power Rangers fleet. While it's not as technically perfect as the GT-R, the overall look of it is so good that its presence makes up the difference and then some.
